Features

Everything you can do, explained simply.

Blacksmith Experience gives you an AI engineering team and real work to do. Here is what is inside, and how each part helps you grow.

01 · Your AI teamA full engineering team, made of AI.

You join a team of eleven AI teammates. Each one has a real job, like manager, tech lead or tester. They work with you every day.

Eleven teammates with real jobs

There is a manager, a tech lead, a product manager, a designer, five engineers, a security expert and a tester. Each one looks at your work from their side.

Chat at any time

Send a message, the same way you would message a coworker. The answer knows your project, your tickets and your code.

Talk on a call

Some things are easier to say out loud. Start a voice call with any teammate and talk it through.

Team meetings

Your manager runs a kickoff at the start of each sprint and a retro at the end. You plan the work together, then look back on how it went.

02 · Real workBuild real software, the way teams do.

You work on a real project, with real code on GitHub. The work comes in sprints and tickets, like at a software company.

Blueprints

Pick a ready-made project. It comes with a plan, starting code and tickets to work on.

See the Blueprints

Bring your own project

Already building something? Connect your GitHub repository, and your team works on it with you.

Sprints and tickets

The work is split into small tickets. Each ticket says what to build and how to know it is done. Your board stays in step with GitHub.

Docs and notes

Keep your project's documents and your own notes in one place, next to the work.

00 · Live previewsSee your app running, live on the web.

A live preview runs your project on the internet, so you can open it and click through it like a real user. Live previews are for Blueprint projects for now.

Your app, at its own web address

Every change you ship shows up in your preview. You see what your users would see.

Its own PostgreSQL database

Each preview has its own database, so your app works with real data that stays separate from everyone else.

A backend server and a frontend server

Your backend and your frontend each run on their own server, the same way real apps are set up.

A Redis server on bigger plans

Bigger plans add Redis, a fast store that apps use for caching and background jobs.

Sized to your plan

Each preview is Small (0.5 vCPU, 512 MB) or Medium (1 vCPU, 1 GB). Plans let 1 to 100 previews run at the same time.

Compare the plans

04 · Code reviewEvery change gets a careful review.

When you open a pull request, your teammates read your code line by line. They tell you what is good, what to fix, and why.

A review on every pull request

Lars, your staff engineer, reviews each pull request. Other teammates join when a change touches their area, like the database or security.

Walkthroughs

Before a ticket is done, you explain your code in your own words. This shows you understand what you built, not only that it works.

Done means done

A ticket closes only when the review passes and the walkthrough is finished. So every finished ticket is real proof of your work.

05 · LearningLearn the ideas behind the work.

When a task needs something new, you learn it right there. Lessons are short and tied to the code you are writing.

A lesson for each task

A task can come with a short lesson on the idea behind it, so you know why the code works, not only how.

Learning tracks

Follow a track for your role, one module at a time, at your own pace.

Ask when you are stuck

Not sure about something? Ask your team. They explain it in plain words and help you take the next step.

06 · GrowthShow what you can do, with proof.

Your teammates see how you work. Over time, this becomes a level and a portfolio that anyone can check.

Levels from L1 to L5

Your level shows how well you work. It comes from your real code, reviews and explanations. There are no quizzes.

How levels work

Points for going further

When you do more than you were asked, the teammate who saw it writes a note, and you earn points.

A portfolio anyone can check

One page with your level and the work behind it. Share it with a link. Nothing is public until you share it.

Challenges

Join a public challenge, build within the time given, and see the results when it ends.

07 · For organisationsBring your team, school or hiring.

The same AI team works for groups too. Each kind of workspace adds what that group needs.

Teams

Your developers work on shared projects with the AI team. Each day, you get an email with what everyone shipped, what is blocked and what comes next.

Schools and bootcamps

Give every learner their own AI team. See who is making progress and who is stuck, in one view.

Hiring

Run short work trials where candidates do real tasks. Each one gets a hiring report, and you compare your shortlist side by side.
